Our commitment
Equity House has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in every business relationship, and to putting effective systems in place to make sure slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chain.
Scope
This policy applies to everyone who works for or with Equity House Group Limited, including employees, directors, contractors, freelancers, interns, volunteers, advisors and, where stated, our suppliers and partners.
Our business and supply chain
We are a UK company operating in media, technology, skills and early-careers services. Our supply chain is largely made up of professional services, software and cloud providers, production and events suppliers, and recruitment partners. We consider the highest risk areas to be production crew, events staffing and any labour sourced through third-party agencies.
Due diligence
- Suppliers are asked to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 before onboarding
- Our supplier code of conduct is issued with contracts and requires the same standards of sub-contractors
- Higher-risk suppliers are subject to additional checks and may be asked for evidence of worker pay, hours and right-to-work records
- We pay every worker at or above the applicable statutory minimum and do not use unpaid internships
- We never hold identity documents, charge recruitment fees, or restrict a worker's freedom to leave
Training and awareness
Everyone involved in procurement or hiring receives guidance on spotting the indicators of modern slavery, including withheld documents, controlled accommodation, third parties speaking for workers, and pay routed to a single account.
Raising a concern
If you have a concern about possible forced labour or trafficking, raise it with your manager or email contact@equityhouse.io. Concerns can be raised confidentially and you will never be penalised for speaking up in good faith. See our whistleblowing policy for the full route.
Governance and review
This policy is owned by the Chief Operating Officer and approved by the board. It is reviewed at least annually, and sooner if the law, our operations or our risk profile changes.
