Our commitment

Reasonable hospitality builds relationships. Gifts that create obligation do not. The test is simple: would you be comfortable if this appeared in public alongside the decision it relates to?

Thresholds

• Gifts or hospitality with a value under £50 may be accepted without approval
• £50 to £250 requires written approval from your manager and must be logged
• Over £250 must be declined, or accepted only with board approval and disclosure
• Cash and cash equivalents must always be declined

Timing matters

No gift or hospitality may be offered or accepted during a live tender, negotiation or evaluation, regardless of value.

The register

All declarable gifts and hospitality, given and received, are recorded in the register maintained by operations and reviewed by the board.

Governance and review

This policy is owned by the Chief Operating Officer and approved by the board. It is reviewed at least annually, and sooner if the law, our operations or our risk profile changes.
